Google Secrets and Lies

Talk about the scourge of Google. Linking to a bad neighbor is not as simple a crime to punish as it first sounds.

There is a lot of gossip going on around the second floor about the elevator stopping on the third floor where there are a lot of bad neighbors. This link to the third floor however is not the only link. Some of the fitter officers use the stairwell. The link however remains. The problem is though is that not all the guys and gals up on the third are actually bad. Some in fact are positively great people. Not only that but people are moving in and out of the third floor all the time. Some good are replaced with some bad yet the links remain the same.

Herein lies the problem. Today we may well be linking to great people via the elevator and the stairwell but tomorrow this fluid situation may change. What is a good neighbor today may well turn out to be the neighbor from hell tomorrow. How do you know when this change takes place?

The answer is simple. Do not link to anyone That way you never have to see what they are doing on the third floor. You are never sure from one day to the next who is up there anyway so why take the risk of suffering the punishment. If there is even a punishment

If you are just a regular Joe or Joanne you have nothing to worry about. Why? Because you won’t be trying to gain an advantage. We hate people trying to gain an advantage….well LB does anyway. Always putting on his black hat and saying how he hates having to reinvent the wheel.

Anyway..enough of this ranting. The message is clear.

The rumour mill is in full swing up on the 5th floor. Word on the street is that PR is dead. That is all the conversation and gossip going on at the coffee machine.

My advice to you is do not believe a word of it. LB was seen with PR last night (by an un-named source) at a small gathering and he looked fine. CJ saw him come in this morning too and then head right off for a pow wow on the 6th. So…don’t believe everything you hear out there on the street.

PR is alive and well and remember where you heared it first!

OK , Enough is enough. GoogleGuy or “spotty-geek” as he is affectionately known on the third floor has written his last unchallenged lie over at Webmasterworld where he likes to (actually he is instructed to) ply his trade. From now on I will be keeping my ear to the ground and divulging secrets to the masses. None of those little hints that could mean anything…NO…real juicy trade secrets that will lift the lid on Google’s innermost workings will flow from these pages like a great big leaking bucket.

You see, I am perfectly placed to divulge snippets and gossip without raising the suspicions of my fellow Officers. Nobody will know where or when I will strike next. The only one who may guess my identity would never tell anyway.

I have been around for three years and am mainly involved in secretarial duties, but like most I wear many hats and can influence many areas. I have a position of responsibility that you would not expect to find blogging.

Why tell I hear you say ?

Because I got knifed big time over my stock allocation. I should be sunning myself on the beach but no…someone decided to cut my allocation and now I will be lucky to walk away with just a few hundred thousand. I feel very bitter about that. So I shall kiss and tell.
